Here is a sampling of some of my Polaroid image transfer work. Most of what I do is "live" image transfer portraits on the streets of New York City. I shoot with old (50s - 60s) Polaroid professional land cameras, converted to take modern professional pack film. Then I immediately transfer the emulsion to archival (100% cotton rag, acid-free, 140lb.), hand-torn watercolor paper. It is through this process that such interesting effects occur. I get softened colors, emulsion bubbles, funky borders, and all varieties of curious results. The final outcome is a gorgeous one-of-a-kind (there's no possibility of re-printing), richly textured, antique-looking print that almost looks painted. If you would like me to shoot your portrait, email me. I also offer other image transfer items/services, including:
NOTE: Since Polaroid ceased production of its film, this process is a dying art...particularly the "live" street portraits. I still have a small stockpile of Polaroid film to carry on this precious technique. (Fujifilm still produces instant film, but the chemistry is different as are the process and results.)
