I recently worked on a project that was given a color palette of "calm blues and playful oranges." This project, as it turns out, was meant to be kept under wraps. No photos, no social media, hush hush.

But it was so incredible that it kills me not to be able to share it. So, this month's photo is my attempt to share some calm blues and playful oranges.

This image is from Burning Man....yes, again... what can I say, it's very photogenic!

When you are out in a vast, completely flat desert, where the sky stretches almost completely uninterrupted from horizon to horizon, amazing things happen.

This was taken just as the sun was setting. The bright blue sky of day was calming down, as were the 60,000 people who were transitioning from the hot playful energy of day to the electric spark of the night. It's a time to breathe, relax and reset.

If you weren't there, you'll have to take my word for it, but this moment - and I remember it well - was both calm and playful.
