Hi,

Xin Nian Kuai Le! Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy New Year!

I've been spending a lot more time in Chinatown lately. It's a place that has always fascinated me, no matter which one in which city in which country. I am becoming re-acquainted with its idiosyncrasies and charm, if you could call it that.

This shot certainly is charming. As we went to meet some friends for a scrumptious Chinese New Year dinner, the streets were littered with gold...and teal and purple and yellow and...

This was a full week after the parade and the streets had been cleaned several times since. This is the aftermath of much more recent celebrations.

I love aftermaths.

If a photo is worth a thousand words, a photo of an aftermath is worth exponentially more. It's an instant in time, but it represents so much more than just that instant. It has a history, a story that's all up to the viewer's imagination to write.

Enjoy!
Randy
