Spring is upon us! Actually, winter is the season that feels like it's upon us, weighing us down. Spring feels more like it's beneath us pushing out of the earth and lifting us up.

In that spirit, this month's photo is shooting upward from just above ground level. It was taken last April as the tulips bloomed and the light green leaves were filling the trees.

Until now, all the photos of the month were taken with some fancy camera rig (Nikon, Leica, Hasselblad, custom-converted antique Polaroid or underwater housing). But this time the old saying rings true: the best camera is the one you have with you.

I don't carry a 'camera' with me at all times, but I do always have my phone. This picture was taken with my iPhone - a measly two megapixel phone-cam.

The iPhone's camera has its share of haters, but I love it. I know that it's capable of taking extraordinary pictures. But more than that I love it because it's always with me and allows me to finely capture moments like this.

Enjoy!
Randy
